A CLASSICAL CROSS-COUNTRY SKI EVENT

Our annual winter celebration will reward young and old with a memorable country event brimming with tradition, fun and unmistakable country charm in the heart of the Laurentians, north of Montreal.

The Morin-Heights Viking Loppet is a classic style skiing event. Ski-skating is NOT permitted.
The Loppet cross-country ski distance choice is yours: 5 km, the moderate 10 km, or the more challenging 20 km.

The Loppet takes place regardless of the weather, although courses may be altered depending on conditions.


DIRECTIONS TO MORIN-HEIGHTS

The staging area for the Loppet is at the Viking Ski Club, located at 393 Jackson Rd., Morin-Heights, QC

  • Montreal, take the Laurentian Autoroute (route 15) north to exit 60 for St. Sauveur/Morin-Heights.
  • Turn left across the highway and bear right after crossing the bridge.
  • Proceed along route 364 through St. Sauveur about 8 km to the traffic lights in Morin Heights.
  • Turn left at the traffic lights and proceed along route 329 about 4 km to dual sign Perry / Jackson on the right hand side of the road.
  • Turn right at the Perry / Jackson sign, and immediately after, left to continue on Jackson Road.
  • About one km along you will see the Club house and parking lot on your right.

Go to course descriptions to find out about each race and see charts showing the age categories for each event. There will be gold, silver and bronze medal winners in each age group.

Intermediate trail with moderate climbing and downhill sections. Difficult sections are relatively short. Skiers start and finish on the pond in front of Skip’s hut at the Viking Ski Club, completing the 10 km loop through a forested area.
