About the Loppet

Celebrating its 46th year in 2018, Morin-Heights Viking Loppet will continue to appeal to cross-country skiers.

The Viking Club (one of the oldest cross-country ski clubs in Canada), and the Municipality of Morin-Heights with their extensive ski and snowshoe trail networks, once again join forces to offer this fine event.

The Morin-Heights Viking Loppet is a winter tradition that celebrates cross-country skiing. The skiing style is classic (no ski skating allowed) with three distances offered: 10 km (staring in part in Wentworth-Nord), 20 km and 33 km.

Just ask anyone who has participated in the Loppet and they will tell you it has become one of the most important cross-country skiing event in Eastern Canada. There is something for everyone, whatever their age or skill level, along with the opportunity to spend a day in the beautiful outdoors and enjoy a spirit of enthusiasm and fun that’s second to none.JPEG

By taking part in our annual winter celebration, you’ll enjoy a memorable event, one that’s full of tradition, fun and country charm, in our small village in the heart of the Laurentians, an easy hour’s drive north of Montreal.

The Morin-Heights Viking Loppet is jointly organized - on a non-profit basis - by the Municipality of Morin-Heights and the Viking Ski Club and we are very grateful for the continued support of our sponsors and the more than 100 volunteers that make each Loppet a fun and memorable one.
